About Us
Tidbits is a free editorial e-subscription and accompanying website that delivers the inside scoop to your inbox twice a week. At Tidbits you'll find everything you'll need to know about what's in style and what's in store.
When designing Tidbits, we thought about what characteristics a woman about town possesses. What is she interested in? Where does she go? What does she do? We focus on creative women who are active, artistic, approachable and ambitious. If you are a cost-conscious woman who always wants to be in the know, sporting the latest fashion, going out to the hottest restaurants or listening to great bands, keeping up can be exhausting and expensive.
So we are volunteering ourselves to do the legwork for you. We'll do the window-shopping and point you in the direction of the fabulous deals, trends and hotspots. It's a tough gig, but for you, we're willing to sharpen our stilettos and hit the ground strutting.

Did you ever miss out on that huge sale at your favorite boutique or miss hearing that great new band play downtown? That is exactly why I started Tidbits. People were always asking me how I found such fabulous deals and if I would keep them in the loop. I wanted something in REAL TIME that would be a weekly reminder about hot restaurant openings, trendy clothing lines and boutique sales.
My idea was to create a website that looks like a magazine, broken into small articles that come in email format, like getting your favorite magazine piece by piece each week! I hope you enjoy receiving your weekly Tidbits as much as I enjoy scouting them out.
Loves Soda Pop- my labradoodle, truffles from Whole Foods, high heels, happy hours, closet organization
Loathes Peas, hangovers, an unmade bed, cell phones and PDAs at the table, Sunday night blues

Mailing lists typically have me classified as a female. I’m not sure why, but it happens often. I guess maybe it’s because my name doesn’t strike the person inputting it strongly one way or the other. Because of this error in gender classification, I was once made the recipient of four copies of Sassy Magazine accompanied by their sets of “Goodies for girls”. That is how I learned everything I know about being a “gal about town.”
Anything else you want to know about me, you can probably find on Google. If you do decide to Google me, I’ll answer your question in advance: no, I was not one of 50 arrested on alcohol charges at a raid on a frat party.
Loves my iPhone, my wife
Loathes "Loves and Loathes" that Pepper and Amy made me do. :P

When I heard that Pepper was creating a website catering to the Austin gal about town, I knew I had to be involved. It sounded like a fun, original idea that should have made its way into Austin “in boxes” long ago. It’s a dream job for me that not only keeps me posted on everything happening in and around Austin, but allows me to find fun ways to shine a light on the endless number of reasons why this is my favorite city.
I can only hope that it’s as much fun for our subscribers to read our weekly tidbits as it is for me to write them.

Before moving to the great city of Austin, only in my wildest dreams would I have been helping plan events and scouting out cool new material to write about for an Austin-based email newsletter! However, within weeks of my move, I met with Pepper at a Congress Avenue coffee shop, and my dream rapidly became a reality. Between scouting out cool new topics to cover in the bi-weekly Austin email newsletter and soliciting donations for our launch party gift bag, I suddenly found a home at Austin Tidbits. I can’t help but love and admire all the other gals and guys I work alongside. So, there you have it. Austin must be magical, because my dreams came true faster than you can whip out your credit card at a sample sale!
Naturally, Cam and Leia, you’re always on my Loves list.

When I heard that Austin Tidbits was building an intern team I couldn’t be more excited. I’m a sophomore student at the University of Texas and just transferred into the Business school to become a marketing major. I moved down to Austin all the way from Highland Park, Illinois, a suburb north of Chicago. I fell in the love with Austin after my first month at school. The opportunity to work for a website that highlights all the great things in Austin was like a dream come true.
Loves Zac Efron, Amy's Ice Cream, music festivals, and my friends
Loathes Cold weather and traffic

Originally from the Houston area, I was shocked how different Austin was when I moved here two years ago. I am a loud and proud longhorn HOOK ‘EM and a third-year journalism major with a focus in magazine. I actually found Tidbits while doing another internship, fell in love with the site, and knew I had to be a part of the group.

I know if you’re like most of my girlfriends, you’re a fabulous, hard working, style conscious woman that often feels overwhelmed with your multiple roles: career maven, hot mama, soul searching urban chic. It’s almost impossible to stay on top of the most important things in life, not to mention the latest trends, the most fabulous spa treatments and where the best sale is this week.
Lucky for you, I’m a style-hungry, bargain shopping, information addict and I’m channeling my obsession for the greater good! From researching new boutiques and charming cafes, to suggesting my favorite beauty treatments, I have made it my mission to deliver the hottest, the hippest and the most delicious tips to your inbox twice each week.

I’m full of opinions, always the one to share words of wisdom or lend sage advice – even when it’s not asked for. I’ve decided to use my power for good and help give Tidbit gals opinions they want to hear – about an undiscovered boutique, new neighborhood restaurant, or can’t-miss-it event.

Overlooking the lush greenery of the Museum District, on the balcony of the Black Label Suite at the ZaZa opening, glass of champagne in hand, mind you, my dear friend said to me “I fall in love with this city more and more every day” and you know what? I think I do too.
There is so much to fall in love with! Any night of the week we can get dolled up, put on our stilettos, and hit the town, or stay in our old Citizens, and Kiwi flip flops and grab a cerveza. After graduating from UT and heading home to Houston, I came down with a bad case of what I like to call “having-to-be-in-the-know.” I was obsessed with rediscovering Houston, seeking out all its new charms and hot spots. Who can I trust to do my eyebrows and hi-lites? Which boutique offers my favorite brands? Where can I get amazing sushi? How about a great spot to grab a drink and sit outside?
One of my girlfriends from Austin who is a loyal Austin Tidbits reader suggested I start up a long overdue Houston Tidbits so girls like me could stay informed about all the things we like to do, see, eat, drink, indulge in, or shop for (on sale). Meanwhile, the stars were aligning. The buzz about Tidbits had made its way to DeDee, the brains behind a similar idea for Houston’s savvy shopping ladies. In no time, the two of us sat surrounded by lists, magazines, chai tea, and a plethora of unbelievable tidbits that we’re dying to share with every girl who’ll listen!

My husband and I moved to Austin from New York when I was four months pregnant. Life (and lifestyle) was definitely changing. After my sweet Lulu was born, I decided it was time to get back into the swing and embrace my new home. I needed to explore the ins and outs of this uncommon town of ours. So, enter Pepper and her contagious enthusiasm. Now I have the amazing opportunity to dive into a new city, applying “old” life experiences as a once eager New Yorker to become an enthused Austinite (now with two little red-heads in tow).
Loves Lost, redecorating, Beck, Uchiviche, Alamo Drafthouse, wine on the back porch

Born and raised in So Cal, I fell in love with Austin after my first year at UT. I’ve dabbled in the PR industry and recently worked for Modern Luxury’s DC Magazine. Now, I’m back in the city I love working for the one thing Austin really needed: Austin Tidbits. Pepper sold me on the idea before it even existed. What can I say? I’m a sucker for fashion, food, and all the fabulous finds that I receive in my weekly tidbits!
