Things you mix expertly: water-based eye shadow pigments, vodka tonics, your famous hangover-curing hot sauce for breakfast tacos. (In that order, actually).

We love the antique bottles at Objects, a new home interiors shop in Upper Kirby. The glass containers date back to the 19th century and were used to store potions and elixirs. The owner has collected them over the years from world travels, thrift stores and eBay. She’s got great stories about their uses (poison, vaccines) and she’ll lend a hand on what kind of fresh flowers dry best inside for a gorgeous display. Starting at $5 each, the bottles are a steal compared to make-you-drool selection here. Our favorite part of the bungalow-turned-shop? The enchanting backyard that screams for a party.

Maybe they’ll ask you to shake up the cocktails.
