When it comes to the back of a Texas truck, you’re used to seeing gun racks, Ducks Unlimited decals and Perry for Governor stickers.

A gourmet crepe stand with a red awning in the bed of a Ford? Not your everyday sighting. Enter Melange Creperie, a brand restaurant run by a fedora-clad hipster who calls himself Buffalo Sean. He drives his tiny stand to the parking lot of Mango’s in Montrose – follow his Twitter page for exact times – where he sets up shop and flips sweet and savory crepes with the expertise of a skilled French chef. Bring cash and create your own, or ask for fluffy combos like spinach and ajvar, ham and egg, Nutella and banana, or chocolate and strawberry. There’s a Texas special – Schulenberg garlic sausage, local spinach and Redneck Cheddar bathed in St. Arnold’s Brown Ale – that he’ll offer if he’s not too busy.

And that’s no pick-up line.
