Everyone knows green is the new black and eco-chic living is uber-hip.
Discovery Green, an urban oasis located in the heart of downtown, is about to make living green even cooler. Nearly 12 acres in size and built with sustainable resources like solar technology, the park is designed for outdoor recreation, events and dining. With skyline views, the space offers something for everyone – a lake that will be frozen in winter for skating, 100-year-old live oaks, gardens, wetlands, playgrounds, an ampitheater, dog parks, a jogging trail and all-over Wifi. Bring your own picnic, or eat at The Grove – they’ve got a bar made of recycled Palmolive bottles and a treehouse-feel terrace complete with a queso-and-tequila bar.
Now that we’ve got our own Central Park, it’s never been easier to go green.
Discovery Green doesn’t officially open until April, but you can discover Houston’s urban hot spot at the preview party this Saturday, March 1. The park will open to the public beginning at 4 p.m. with live entertainment, food and drinks. Find out more at www.discoverygreen.com
