Happy Birthday, Janna of Bonfolk!

This month's Birthday Girl has style that really socks it to ya. Each month we celebrate a local entrepreneur on her special day.

Our September birthday girl is Janna Hart, founder of Bonfolk, the beloved New Orleans-based brand known for its fantastically printed socks and, as of this year, newly launched towels. The label celebrates its 6th birthday this month.

Happy birthday, Janna! How are you celebrating this year?
Thank you, celebrating this year by having lunch with my family. It's also my daughter Eloise's 2nd birthday, so really it's not about me anymore! Haha.

How many candles are you blowing out?
32, and I can honestly say that I'm right where I want to be in my life.

Neighborhood you call home?
Lakeview. We love riding our bikes to City Park for beignets. Sense of community, neighbors are so friendly.

Daily uniform?
My Pskaufman Chelsea boots, Badform tote bag, messy hair and throw on something easy, as I'm out the door by 7:15 am.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner - where are we most likely to find you?
My husband loves to cook, and his food is my favorite! I usually request something Italian or Asian. Also - I have a major sweet tooth, love Parish Parlor!

Favorite gift to give...
I like to give books, funny because I don't like to read myself. Usually fashion books or funny children's books.

Favorite gift to receive…
Something sentimental, homemade, cards.

What was the first design launched by Bonfolk?
When I launched Bonfolk in 2015, I started with five designs. These were for the NOLA locals: Crawfish, Black & Gold, Gator, Louisiana, Saucin. Happy to say I still have all of those in the line!

What are your best sellers?
Oyster, Beignet, Who Dat, Pothole.

Always in my work bag?
Donation socks, measuring tape, needle/thread, sketchbook, snacks.

Something you want people to know about Bonfolk.
We're the first and only company in the world that donates a towel for every towel sold.

Best part about being a small business owner in NOLA?
New Orleanians are each other's biggest cheerleaders. We really show pride in our city and support local companies.
